Online Safety

Our networks are protected by a firewall. They are robust and notify senior staff when there is an attempt to behave inappropriately online.

When we are notified of this, cases are looked at individually.

If we suspect that a child is demonstrating online behaviour which at home, outside of adult supervision, could leave them vulnerable to harm, we will contact the parent or carer. We could telephone home or may sometimes ask them to come in for a chat to explain how that behaviour could be altered or need to be stopped.

Not sure on how to stay safe online?

 Social Networking

There are lots of different social media platforms that children may access.

However, children need to be over 13 years old before they can sign up for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram. Any children under 13 signing up to such platforms does so with a falsified date of birth, which is, technically, fraud.

Please read the social networking sites checklists to ensure your child is safe.

“Every child has the right to be safe and to be protected from activities that may harm them.”
