Class information
PE
PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays - children have a PE kit in school but should bring trainers to change into on PE days. They might need tracksuit bottoms and a jumper for during colder months as we may have outdoor lessons depending on our topic. Children have a session with the Newcastle United Foundation on Tuesday afternoons - they can bring trainers in for this session if they wish, but, if their school shoes are appropriate for light activity in the yard, this will be fine.
Homework
Children are given spellings to learn each Wednesday. They should also read regularly at home - at least 15 minutes five times per week. Their reading should be recorded in their home reading journals. Children should complete 5 Times Tables Rockstars sessions each week (5 mins per session). If it is decided that a homework pack will be useful for a child to support their progress in class, they will be given a homework pack which should be returned to school each week on Mondays to be marked - children will mark their own homework under the guidance of the teacher so they can correct their own errors.
