ARMS Consultation
Consultation on Changes to SEND Designation at Brandling Primary School
Brandling Primary school is committed to providing high-quality education and support for all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). In alignment with our ongoing efforts to enhance our provision, we are proposing a change to work with the local authority to change our offer in relation to our ARMs provision.
Proposed Change
We are seeking to change the ARMS offer of our school to better meet the needs of children and the wider community. This change will enable us to provide specialist support and broader inclusion for children who are struggling to attend school on a regular basis.
Why This Change is Needed
After careful review, we believe that updating our SEND offer will allow us to:
- Improve access to tailored support for pupils with specific SEND needs.
- Strengthen resources and staff expertise in emotional and therapeutic support.
- Enhance collaboration with the local authority and specialist services.
- Ensure long-term sustainability of SEND provision at our school.
Consultation Process
We value the input of parents, carers, staff, and the wider community in this process. We encourage all stakeholders to share their views to ensure a smooth transition and the best possible outcomes for our students.
Feedback can be submitted via email (brandling@gateshead.gov.uk) by 22nd July 2025.
Next Steps
Following the consultation period, all feedback will be reviewed and considered. A final decision regarding the SEND designation change will be communicated.
